Sanae Okawa

Background

Born in Osaka, Sanae spent part of her childhood in Connecticut, United States. She passed the certified public accountant examination while studying economics at Rikkyo University. In 2019, she joined EY ShinNihon LLC, where she worked in the financial services division on financial statement audits, internal control audits, and English-language disclosures for major Japanese and foreign-owned companies. In 2022, she established the Aoi Group and became its representative, developing services that support the growth of small and medium-sized businesses through accounting, finance, and tax advice.

In March 2026, she was appointed Outside Director and Audit and Supervisory Committee Member of Ceres Inc.

In July 2026, she was appointed Outside Corporate Auditor of M-D-B Co., Ltd.

Areas of Support

As a certified public accountant and licensed tax accountant, she supports corporate growth from accounting, finance, and tax perspectives.

Her strengths include business planning and growth strategy, financing support, M&A support, and efficient back-office design centered on cloud accounting platforms such as freee.

Drawing on her experience living in the United States, she provides direct support in English for foreign-owned companies and international entrepreneurs entering Japan.

She also serves as an outside officer of listed companies and lectures at incubation facilities.
